A horrific accident between Vadim Kogay and Marcus Mahy has halted the legendary race.
The 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps is well underway, yet the track is dead silent. It's a very rare and eerie sight but has happened due to a crash involving two Ferrari drivers.
The event, which has been marred by a number of wrecks, has been halted after a brutal accident involving the No. 333 of Vadim Kogay and No. 111 of Marcus Mahy. They were both driving Ferrari 458 Italias. The collision took place at the 15th corner of the circuit and a brief fire erupted on the No. 333 machine. Those who viewed the crash say that Kogay's car went airborne during the incident.
A helicopter was called in to airlift Marcus Mahy to the hospital. He has been stabilized according to reports. There hasn't been any official updates regarding Kogay's condition The red flag lasted approximately 45 minutes.
UPDATE: Mahy is conscious but remains in very serious condition and should undergo surgery tomorrow. There are conflicting reports regarding whether Kogay is still in the hospital or not. Apparently, a driver told the GT Racing Twitter page that he is still in the hospital as well.
