Vaealiki Released

Easily the best news we've had all year. What a waste of time, space and money.

The Manly Sea Eagles today released former New Zealand Test centre David Vaealiki from his 2008 contract to take up a two year offer to play rugby union in France.
Vaealiki sought a release after receiving the offer in recent weeks. Manly chief executive Grant Mayer said it would have been unfair and selfish of Manly to oppose the request. "David has only been with us a short time but he has impressed everyone with his attitude and he was unable to show us his best because of injury. "He goes with our best wishes. He has a young family and this deal will be a benefit financially for him," Mr.Mayer said. Vaealiki said he was leaving Manly reluctantly. "I have enjoyed my time here with a great bunch of team mates and a professionally run organisation. "Injuries in the pre season and in the early rounds of the premiership haven't helped but I now realise that the chance to play rugby in France is the best option for me and my family,"Vaealiki said.
The 27 year old spent the last three seasons in the English Super League with Wigan after six seasons in the NRL with Parramatta.

Why sign a bloke from England than release him 7 games into the year. Stupid decision for Manly to sign him in the first place.

I dont think you quite get the 6 pocket theory, its arsey tries with no real aim. Why would we want a pin point accurate snooker player if we are playing the 6 pocket theory?

Maybe you should stick to the issues, cos you = FAIL @ LOL

Zzzz getting quite repetitive with the snooker jokes.. Nice to see Tigers snatch the game vs Sharks with a nice shot in the top left pocket.

So will Lyon partner Bell in the centres? Or will someone else come up from the NSW cup or under 20s?

the Kiwis have always picked out of the ESL when they have wanted to, especially in the time that Dave has been over there with Tri-Nations being played to suit both hemispheres.

he was washed up when he left Parra for big money at Wigan and Manly have done some very poor recruiting in bringing him back to NRL.

Manly didn't actively recruit him, he fell in to our laps when his original deal to play union in France fell through.
