National Rugby League Chief Executive Officer Andrew Abdo has paid tribute to Manly Warringah Sea Eagles player Keith Titmuss, 20, who died after a training session earlier today.

Mr Abdo said the National Rugby League (NRL) would offer every possible support to Keith’s family, the club and teammates.

“This is a tragic day for rugby league,’’ he said.

“The game has lost a promising young player with the world at his feet. Keith had made it into Manly’s Top 30 for the 2021 season after coming through the club’s junior ranks.

“We will make sure Keith’s family, the club and our players receive every support they need from the game.

“We are one family and today we have lost a member of that family. On behalf of the Commission and the game I send my deepest condolences to Keith’s family.”

Mr Abdo said NRL wellbeing staff were at the Manly club this afternoon providing assistance to players and staff, including arranging grief counselling.

Really shocked when i heard this news...didn't know much about him but i had heard that the wraps on this kid were huge, but that is completely irrelevant...

20 years old is way too young to die and hearing news like this just makes you realize how fleeting life can be, and none of us know what's around the corner...

Cherish the special moments with your loved ones and live each day like it's your last...

Very sad news....

Tragic news to see that this young guy passed away like he did yesterday. No doubt he would have been excited and looking forward to next year but unfortunately it is all irrelevant now.

Condolences and deepest sympathies to all of the people connected to him.
