Is he off contract?

There were some unfounded reports that we may be interested in signing him.

If he plays like he did last night, then we'll take him. He probably needs a fresh start.

How has his form been this year?

Hot abnd cold. When he plays well we win. But He wont leave.

I think Vella has actually been more hot than cold this season....but occassionally there has been a blackout and the hotwater tank has provided a few cold showers.

And good on him for getting his finger out despite coping constant abuse from alot of people.

Oh yeah - you asked a question....nearly forgot.....he is not off contract, he has 1 more year to run....just been alot of un-substantiated rumours about him leaving...but I guess contracts mean nothing any more, so you never know.

Ok look back at 2001. You cant tell me his form wasnt devasting. He deadset broke the line a couple times a game. We need more go forward. Hopefully we get that next year when Hindys workload is lessened.

And above all we need a coaching staff that can (re)capture the spark in the talented players that we do have!

We've seen what Vella can be like in 2001. He actually earnt his Australian jersey. That's why we're so hard on him these days, even if he's having a "good" year, it's not a shade on what it could be in other circumstances...
