ROCK band Velvet Revolver have parted company with lead singer Scott Weiland, the group said today, one month after the frontman was charged with driving under the influence of drugs.
A statement on Velvet Revolver's website said Weiland had been axed because of his "erratic behaviour."
"This band is all about its fans and its music and Scott Weiland isn't 100 per cent committed to either," said guitarist Slash in the statement.
"Among other things, his increasingly erratic on-stage behaviour and personal problems have forced us to move on."
Other Velvet Revolver founding members Duff McKagan, Matt Sorum and Dave Kushner backed the move.
Weiland, 40, was arrested in November last year after his car crashed on a Los Angeles freeway. He was arrested after refusing to take a sobriety test and was charged last month.
The former Stone Temple Pilots singer, who has a history of drug-related problems, faces between one week and a year in prison if convicted.

Scott is one of the legends but this comes as no surprise - it's the same reason he fell out with STP.

Bach could be an option - I was listening to some of his solo stuff he other day and it really is damn good. He's one of the few rockers left that has managed to maintain real energy without sounding cheesy.

I read about this coming. Slash said there will be a third album but they dont know how or when yet.

I guess after having all the troubles with Axl with cancelled and late shows they dont have much tolerance for cancelled and late shows which Scott was starting to have.

Also said Scott had a blue with Matt after a recent show, but didnt say what over.

Hope they get something happening and tour again as whilst there albums were pretty sh*t they were a great live band and id like to see Slash one more time.

Shame Scott forced the cancellation of the Aussie tour last/this year.

Guitarist says the group are not splitting up

Velvet Revolver guitarist Slash has said that, despite recent reports of his band being in turmoil, they are not splitting up - although singer Scott Weiland may not be in the band for much longer.

As previously reported on NME.COM, Velvet Revolver's Scott Weiland and drummer Matt Sorum fell out after a recent gig in Glasgow, with Weiland suggesting that the band may never tour again.

Since the bust-up, Slash has told the Daily Star that the band will record another album, but possibly without the singer.

"There will be a third album," he said. "We don't know how or when but the core four guys will continue."

Scott is one of my favourite front men ever, however i always thought he was out of his league when he joined up with VR. He's a good singer but not a great one, seb bach has far more talent without the headlines, and tbh, seb bach is magnificant in concert, he has amazing energy and plays every concert like his last, they could get alot worse and really? who is avaliable? AXL lol

Maybe this is the reason why Chinese democracy has yet to be released:-k
