Here are highlights from Monday night's match between the Malta XIII and the British Army's touring 1 MERCIAN RL team in Malta.
For the Maltese, only four overseas based players - that included three debutantes that included a 16 year old Australian based player also making his representative debut for the MRL.
The remainder of players are all from the four-team MRL Dove Men+Care Championship that is currently on its summer break after three rounds. Rounds 4, 5 and the Championship Final will resume in late summer.
The Malta XIII defeated the British Army team 26-24 after the tourists last Friday night scored a 50-4 win over Gozo RL on the island of Gozo. Gozo RL are currently running last in the domestic championship.
