Problem: Video ref gets used way too often in Rugby League.
What I suggest as a solution: 'Tennis-style' video referees. What do I mean by that?
Essentially, the on-field referee is solely responsible for awarding tries. However, a team can 'challenge' if they believe the try about to be awarded is not a try. Then, and only then, does it ever get referred to the video ref.
Each team can be entitled to two challenges per half. This will drastically reduce our dependence on the video referees plus the time wasted looking at loads of replays.
Thoughts?
