Well it's offcial (it already was but still, this is just extra again) that video refs are completely bias against us...

That call against Logan... HOW DID THE VIDEO REF EVEN MAKE THAT CALL! He said the ball went forward... well it didn't touch anyone or the ground so that means it was a PASS which they CAN'T RULE ON! WTF!

In the manly game they awarded a try to the wolfman and he didnt even ground it. we would be better off without them. they are useless.

Come on dude, it was no try regardless of the video refs not being able to rule on forward passes.

You're relying on a technicality to award us a try that, in reality, shouldn't have been awarded. Not really in the spirit of the game.

i agree
clear no try but it does propose an interesting situation, he called on a forward pass, which he can legally not do. Right call or not the NRL needs to clear this up, because it might come back to haunt them in the finals.

You can't really say it was a forward pass anyway. There was no attempt to pass the ball, only an attempt to catch it which ended up with the ball being knocked forward.

Did the ref say it was a forward pass or a knock on? I was at the game and didn't hear the call.

My issue is that he CAN'T rule on it... I agree it went forward but once it goes to the video ref who, for whatever reason, can't rule on forward passes there was no legal reason he couldn't give the try... The ball went from the hands of one player to the hands of another with-out touching the ground or another player so what is the difference between that and a pass? Legally nothing so:

A) He CAN NOT call that a no try

B) Why the f**k can't they rule on forward passes anyway?

C) The Raiders are already proven as getting the WORST of the video ref calls so I'm not sure why I'm surprised anymore (for any who missed it league average is 65% given, Raiders get 40%, which is the lowest in the league by 24% and if you're against the Raiders you have an 80% chance of your tries being awarded).

There was no attempt to pass the ball, only an attempt to retrieve it that resulted in the ball being knocked forward with no control. Whether another Raider caught the ball before it hit the ground is irrelevant. It's still a knock on.

You're the only person I've encounted that believes an incorrect decision was made.

OK... So what's the difference between a "knock on" that doesn't hit the ground or anything else and a "forward pass"?

My issue is that it couldn't have even been ruled on...

The difference is that a video ref can adjudicate on a knock on but can't adjudicate on a forward pass.
Had it been an attempted pass, you'd be correct in saying that the video ref couldn't rule on it. The ref asked the video ref to check for a knock on which he did.....hence no try.
Having said that, I guess the reason that the rules state a video ref can't rule on forward passes is because the camera angles can be misleading when determining whether or not the pass is back from the hands.
It was pretty clear last night that a player running through grabbing at the ball knocked it forward before it was caught and grounded by his team mate.

I wouldn't worry about this one. Dugan knocked it forward. No try.

We get heaps of sh*t decisions from the VR, but this wasn't one of them!

This is the last call we should be worried about, clear no try. Worry about rubbish calls like Graham getting penalized for tackling Dell into the in goal, now that was a really bad call.

Agreed it wasn't a try, stated that earlier and yes there are lots of sh*t calls but I still fail to see how, or even why, the video ref ruled on this... Should have gone back to a ref's call and, as always, he would have been watching the screen anyway and called it a no try.
