Video Touch Judges

In the Sharks-Dogs game, there was an incident where the Touchie came in for a report after watching the video replay on the big screen (or that's what it seems like anyway). I can't remember exact examples, but I have noticed this appears to have happened a couple of times before.
The Ch 9 commentators say the touch judges aren't supposed to report on what they see on the screen.
A correct decision might be made (it was in this game), that would have otherwise been missed.
However this was picked up on a TV replay, but what if the TV director decides not to show the replay (or shows it too late). Could this make touch judges lazy.
I can see the good and bad with this, although I'mslightly against it for thereasons in the above paragraph.
Does anybody else have an opinion.

The use of sideline video is an interesting development in the game. One strange incident occured in the Newcastle/Canterbury game earlier this year. El Masri ran in a try from about 60 metres out and he was running straight towards the big screen - on the screen he could see himself and the chase by Justin Ryder I think. Ryder went for an ankle tap and El Masri was able to skip out of the way because he could see thedive on the big screen.

Touch judges are usually quite incompitent. Especially in the lower grades where they miss things that happen right in front of them. I say we don't need them at the top level. Two video refs watching the game on TV from either side of the field would pick up more. All they'd have to do is contact the ref, and all is done.
