I took a sicky. Im handing in my resignation within the next couple of days. im doing landscape gardening full time. woot woot!~

The computer network (over 4500 devices and 18 sites globally) I am responsible for has not missed a beat in two years.
Viruses have no chance against an Angry Protected Network.

The 3 pillars of Virus protection.
1. A valid and secure, security perimeter
2. 3 tier anti-virus structure - External - Server - Client
3. Auto-updating of all tiers.

Moffo, your IT boys have failed badly here, heads should roll - seriously.
One thing for a home PC to get it, corporate entities however can only point to inefficent or incompetent IT staff. Get a rocket up them.

True Mr Angry, it is a big f**k up. It'll cost us millions. Triple J were reporting tonight that we were the only big company to get hit by it :lol:

i'm pretty sure our computer would be f***ed if the virus got to it.. we havent got an anti-virus cause it expired, and havent been bothered to get another one.. fingers crossed! (that it doesnt get virused)

A firewall should work to block these types of viruses. Several free ones around.

What a fun day :lol:

At the financial institution where I work at, the systems decided to pack it all in at about 11am this morning

Chaos ensued, as roughly 1200 computers went bust

Funny thing was, it was supposed to be the first day that we were supposed to be using new technology that they had been developing for several years :lol:

So the irony was, despite the plans to update technology on computer systems, we spent a day working with paper :lol:

Systems still aren't up and apparently they won't be tomorrow either. This would cost companies soooo much money, did anyone else have their systems die today????

Nope, i ended up getting the virus too. Its was pretty easy to get rid of it though. Just saw it on the news that Westpac's computers went down due to the virus. And i assumed thats where u worked.
