There is no stopping this Fool. Not only is he in control of NSW Racing & the NRL but he has now extended his "brief" to chief of the Australian RL Selectors. The game is corrupt : look at the Leading Teams who are sponsored by major Sports Betting Agencies. Sure it's business but it leads to all sorts of questions when you consider how individual games are "managed" by Referees , favouritism at the Judiciary , the Bunker giving decisions that are clearly incorrect. Yet we're expected to accept it all as advancement of the enterprise. The game is struggling at Junior level , we have no second tier competition that is meaningful ; it's like watching a well-loved Relative slowly pass away from an incurable disease.

I think he is an arrogant greedy bastard. He has to have his fingerprints in everything so that his smug dial gets even more smug. Is he a Dragons supporter?

They banned smokes from being sponsors due to health and bad life choices yet the have betting agencies. I have seen plenty gamblers suffer with poor health and have their lives turned upside down. Would rather smoke sponsors than betting where they actually benefit from results of the games.

Smoking is so effing bad. I smoked from about 18 to 61 and I really wish I hadn't and I only averaged 10 a day which weren't that many but each one added onto the previous one and so on. It has made my physical way of life much more difficult now that I have developed COPD from it - haven't touched them for 13 years. The habit was always so hard to kick.

Betting, well, for quite a significant lot of people as you would know Slippery they have been affected very much and has become a big way of life for them. With all the ads glorifying betting and gambling it's no wonder they do and I agree with what you say that for plenty, these punters/gamblers often suffer miserably from financial and mental health and have their lives turned upside down with their families and all.

Again as with alcoholic drinking, both smoking and gambling are evils we can do without and the continuing push by the betting ads on TV and the naming League grounds with their betting agency, will only make it more difficult for people in general to stop.

V'Landys doesn't care as it no doubt allows for the finances to flow through the tills to keep his "sports" looked after even though it affects multitudes as mentioned. They might as well say that all's good to slaughter this and that, if they can make a few dollars out of it.

For Older members , they'll recall the "Holy Trinity" - Humphries / Arthurson & Moore (with Gibson doing his fair share within the Coaching ranks) - their Clubs were untouchable much the same as the Roosters , Penrith , Storm currently. Look into V'Landy's links with Politis , Waterhouse etc. The Roosters major sponsor , Steggles , have deeply imbedded Horse racing roots - Fairway Thoroughbreds : they just happened to breed a little filly by the name of WINX (as well as other well known nags). That's how you organise a Third Party deal Saints ; with an undisclosed share in an equine with racing pedigree. Penrith run with Blue Bet & the Storm are owned by Matt Tripp & his betting agencies. NOTHING TO SEE HERE & ALL LEGIT 'cause Uncle Pete's onboard.

God I hope not Dave, my question is what does he know about RL ??
I think he used to play it in his younger days in the Illawarra region. If he was a Dragons fan, he certainly doesn't show it and give us much "help". Maybe because we are not tied up with gee gees and betting agencies. I guess that's why as Smacka pointed out Penrith and the Storm are doing nicely, thank you very much. It pays to be a gambler just like in this song.
