They banned smokes from being sponsors due to health and bad life choices yet the have betting agencies. I have seen plenty gamblers suffer with poor health and have their lives turned upside down. Would rather smoke sponsors than betting where they actually benefit from results of the games.
Smoking is so effing bad. I smoked from about 18 to 61 and I really wish I hadn't and I only averaged 10 a day which weren't that many but each one added onto the previous one and so on. It has made my physical way of life much more difficult now that I have developed COPD from it - haven't touched them for 13 years. The habit was always so hard to kick.
Betting, well, for quite a significant lot of people as you would know Slippery they have been affected very much and has become a big way of life for them. With all the ads glorifying betting and gambling it's no wonder they do and I agree with what you say that for plenty, these punters/gamblers often suffer miserably from financial and mental health and have their lives turned upside down with their families and all.
Again as with alcoholic drinking, both smoking and gambling are evils we can do without and the continuing push by the betting ads on TV and the naming League grounds with their betting agency, will only make it more difficult for people in general to stop.
V'Landys doesn't care as it no doubt allows for the finances to flow through the tills to keep his "sports" looked after even though it affects multitudes as mentioned. They might as well say that all's good to slaughter this and that, if they can make a few dollars out of it.
