yeh, that cutout pass from Latrell was so lethal, Berry's hamstring blew again. You can see it happen in the highlights package.
Well he should never replace a young and fit player like Ali then. Berry can't get through an 80-minute game, let alone a few games in a row, let alone a solid season.

Great grubber. Badger went all the way back to see if Roger knocked on, but no. Berry grounded it. Metcalf can hand over the goal-kicking though, that was an unacceptable miss.

12-8.

Pompey's on, he can kick. Leka stuffs up the ptb and that's another moment lost, could've been points at the end of that. We looked hot.

Then Souths lose it, we capitalise big. Try to Charnze. 14-12, us. Halftime. Metcalf nails one from the sideline.
I'm starting to think Metcalf needs to hand over the kicking duties, a few close games that conversion are very important.
Next min he is kicking them from the sideline!

To much sticky spray on Lekas hand there.

I said this before the game - I am a Berry fan but the guy is busted. He has an extensive history of his body not holding up and should have come back via NSW Cup.

Incidentally, I watched Jackson Ford closely during this game and anyone who still bags him needs to look at the 2025 version rather than the ball dropping bumbler they have in their mind.

The guy works his arse off, doesn't miss tackles and consistently bends the line and gains post contact metres. No, you ideally don't want him with the ball inside the 20m line (although that worked out yesterday!) but he's so solid, so consistent that we didn't miss JFH when he was out and the loss of Barnett yesterday didn't kill us.

We're not paying him $800k but he is providing great value

I was one of his critics when he was on the edge, but yea man he's been getting better and better since moving to the middle.

I think simplifying his role has been really good for him – doesn’t have to think about finding a weak defender on the edges or linking with his halves or centre, its just catch and carry now. Felt like a weird move at first but major credit to him and the coaches for making a success of it so far.

Webster seems to have a knack for successfully converting backrowers into middles…Barnett, now Ford, and didn’t Vaimauga come through age grades as a backrower? Might have to do the same with Niukore now.
