I feel like the problem is that he was never coachable enough or had a burning desire to get better. Took criticism as a personal affront rather than a chance to get better. Was happy to rely on natural talent which only took him so far, and now that his body isn't capable of that stuff he's got nothing to fall back on.The problem with SJ is that he was raised that normal solid footy isn’t good enough. He always needs to do something special. Now that he’s older all we want is cool headed footy. But he’s incapable of doing the smart thing because it’s not heroic enough for him. He’s never going to be any good until he learns to play high percentage footy and be the boring controller.
