Yeah, that (giving the challenge back) specifically was correct - and I think Tohu knew it too, since he directly asked the ref if they had lost their challenge (though of course the ref gave him the wrong answer).

Is it a bit lame that Brown’s comments almost always come back to “young guys on the edges made mistakes” yet we all knew before pre season that we had a weak back line AND Brown refuses to make changes even though Aitken has massive experience there and is a good defender? Isn’t the definition of insanity doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results?

Ref and commentary did mention afterwards that they had been given their challenge back. Technically they won the challenge even though we got the ball.
