I hate the idea of the draft system. As someone said, it's very different to the US - professional clubs don't have feeder systems, they have colleges. NRL clubs do.
And we can try and level the playing field all we want, but it's not the players so much as the overall environment. The quality of the coaches in the main part, but also CEOs and management who are an ever-present in those clubs (Melbourne, Roosters, Panthers etc).
