get down and support the boys...these are the boys who are below grade. get down and watch and take into account why cleary keeps picking the same players week in-week out. some promising players, but if you get down to watch, you will find they arent quite there yet.

Dirty Hoe.
Some of us can't get along and certainly are in the dark as to the Vulcan players form.
How about doing a short summary of the players for us?
Of particular interest how are Mara & Poching going?

Ditto. Telling people to 'get down' to watch the Vulcans is all well and good if you're local. Hard to hop in the car from Christchurch. As it is we rely on Aussie clubs to get the Warriors here:lol:

TAT are one loss away from Sharman Cup mediocrity and originally had no fewer than 5 players chosen for this side...

tat should be right...should do bay...i doubt richmond will get over howick. so even if we some how lose and richmond lose aswell, we will go up with our superior percentages.

its certainly been a harsh way to qualify when you have what could be the top 3 sides in the same group. and then the volume of players going to vulcans.

I have watched them play twice over here in Sydney.

After watching the Sharks game I can tell you Ah Van deserved his call up.

Locke deserves to still be there.

Mara is just back from injury but showed some good glimpses out of dummy half on the weekend.

Poaching is going ok at this level, no where near ready to step up.

The two wingers look like they could develop into something.

Dane Shelford also looks like he could eventually develop into a 1st grade player, he just needs a season considering he converted from Union and hasn't played league since he was 6. Not to sure how he will go at 6. though, much more suited to hooker.

James Gavet looks pretty good to.

But the rest are pretty average, and when they don't perform the good players try to hard and start to suffer.

As far as any of them at all being ready for first grade, it's only Ah Van, Locke and maybe Mara after a couple more weeks playing could make the cut.

What does Ah Van actually do in the Vulcans? What sort of player is he? I'm genuinely wondering, because as a first grade winger he just doesn't appear to have the physical attributes. Not really fast, not really big, just doesn't make a dent.

I've always thought he had pretty good all-round skills and hence would be much better in a position closer to the ruck where he had options, could do a bit of ball-playing, occasionally dummy and take the line on, and do a bit more tackling if necessary. I've seen him play half, stand-off, and backrow for Tat/Vulcans/Toyota Cup, and that seems to be where he's best. Unfortunately, any time he's moved in even as close as centre in first grade he gets bagged and everyone calls him for him to go back to the wing.

You get the feeling they can't organise anything properly.

They really are a bunch of amateurs. They simply don't want to spend a few bucks extra on security.

You should be able to get into the number 2 car park at that time though.

Whose brilliant idea was it to shift Locke to five eight? No wonder he looked like he needed to be somewhere else.

was a good comeback by the Vulcans but letting the Melbourne side back in front at the end, not good.
Our NRL stars were erubbish.
Mara and Lousi very keen, as were the forwards. Gavet was great.,

Good to see Manu go well for Melboune.
