WA BEARS

You fellas have been very active on here tonight.
Question, if the Bears were going to negotiate with anybody of influence besides the WA Government who would/should it be ?.

Team 18 should and looks like being a side with great player potential but needing lower grade structure. Any of the suggested locations need what the Bears can bring

You must be nervous though when all we hear talked about is everyone but the W.A. bids.
Personally, I think W.A. is a no-brainer, especially from the national broadcast reach angle, but given V`landy`s propensity to take advantage of Gov`t largesse, and having a Fed Gov`t who seems pretty willing to stump up, this may be swaying their thinking.
Still the lack of Perth references is worrying.

Because need to get players 1st, Perth should be 19 or 20

The Bears will completely f*** any location that takes them on and ride their corpse back to North Sydney.

Zero chance that will be allowed, the licence will be awarded to the location not the Bears

Every interview has been they have been in talks with the bids, They wouldn't do that if they could get the licence

If they are dropping millions to run the lower grades, fair trade really
You mean the non for profit leagues club that contractually has to spend on local leagues and the community to keep a license is dropping millions

Having a team in Perth won't change any of the above in relation to north Sydney

If this is the case it will not be a Bears team in that location, as per their very vocal non negotiables

You can imagine the uproar if they try and punt them again; even if the NRL should do it.

If they own the licence they could do whatever they want with it. That’s the point. They have also made it explicitly clear that their primary concern is to placate their old North Sydney supporters above everything else.

Any team can get exactly what the bears are offering in terms of pathways by partnering with a qrl club without giving up the lican se ownership and having to adopt a foreign brand.

They’ve aid they see ns oval as the home of the new club. If that doesn’t set off alarm bells nothing will.

Whoring themselves around to every city and town in Australasia for a sugar daddy so they can plot its death and bring back the glory days at NSO for a few old men in their Sydney living rooms

Admirable, Sad, Desperate or Deluded?

Again though they won't own it. They will partner with a region that needs the grassroots help to a team going.

Where are the areas mentioned going to get 100 players plus, Coaching and support staff for 3 or 4 teams. Office space, Training and equipment and so on.

Throw in the apparent sponsors and it makes the very ambitious time lines possible.

Even if you add 20-30 top 17 year olds from the islands into an existing NSW or QLD Cup team. The depth will be amazing within a couple of years.

That is what a partnership like mentioned allows .it is still 80% Pacific Island, Perth, NZ team. Just cuts 5-10 year minimum off the setup time

That’s not what they are saying. Sure it MIGHT not end up what they want but at the moment they’ve doubled down on the non negotiables for the last two years and have shown no sign of shifting in them. You’re making a hypothetical that at some point they will. If they do great, it’s a goer, if they don’t then any self respecting bid should tell them to stick it.

pretty much everyone can see what their endgame is, and it’s not a good thing for whichever city ends up with them under their terms.

as for the players Reserve grade, a new club can get that from partnering with any of the qrl clubs, Newtown or Mounties if they want to without the baggage bears bring.

What you are describing is a feeder club arrangement, something any club already can and does do

The Bears want to own an NRL license, they have made that clear as day
