Who knows, there is no comments on where they think the WA govt is going to get the money from. Id suggest the Govt will have already set a spend target on this project so if they want that significant amount in something not earmarked then its diverting funds from the pot from some other part or adding to the point with another 25%.So PVL has asked for $120m to be diverted from the Stadium upgrade or COE ?
im struggling to believe that ..
Sure if they werent also paying $300mill+ for HBF upgrade and $100mill on CofE and other stuff for the club! You seem to be missing the point they have already committed a significant amount of money to making the club a success. So they have no problem paying teams directly to play there ?
Well that’s the Perth bears lol
North mel to get 2 million pa to take 2 games there to promote tourism
Just like they want an nrl team to promote tourism and based on the deal above for 2 games the wa govt should be paying the club 12 million pa
Looks like pvl is spot on
Maybe they should be on central coast and the NRl can stay in its east coast myopia.Maybe the bears should be based in Sydney then sell 11 home games to Perth ?

Either way WA govt has clearly said no and continues to try and find a position everyone is happy with. Should have just let the Western Bears bid find some of the license fee and we could now be celebrating the announcement.
ExactlyIf they’re including HBF Park upgrades in funding for an NRL team I would want the stadium to become an exclusive NRL stadium otherwise it’s not funding for the NRL club
Central coast bears would be a stronger nrl team than Perth bears but that ship has sailedMaybe they should be on central coast and the NRl can stay in its east coast myopia.
Last time I looked, $2M was quite a bit less than $120M.So they have no problem paying teams directly to play there ?

it makes no sense ..
You would try to get the Stadium upgraded and the COE built ASAP…. Maybe even by the time they enter the comp… So the money can’t be allocated elsewhere up to 12 years later if it’s already been spent …
Well it would be $2m vs $10-12m as its per year. However $2m is for an AFL club and $10-$12m is for rl grassroots and infrastructure investment.Last time I looked, $2M was quite a bit less than $120M.
2 million is for 2 games a yearWell it would be $2m vs $10-12m as its per year. However $2m is for an AFL club and $10-$12m is for grassroots and infrastructure investment.

2 million is for 2 games a year
So with the bears paying 11 games a year it would mean the wa govt would have to pay the club 11 million directly
Just like it does with north Melbourne
It’s obvious the state doesn’t have a problem paying clubs directly if it wants too
I hope pvl sees this deal with north melb it’s only more ammunition to get the right result for our game
Don't mention 'zero' and the Perth bid. It gives out bad vibes.Well owning the club and paying $12m a year in funding are seperate things right ?
I just find it really odd that you negotiate with Cook for six months at least ..he gIves you a lot already and then you drop this on him out of nowhere as well?
Makes zero sense to me …
Bears guy is saying this $120m ($12m by 10 years )was a “redirection of already committed funds”… what’s your take on that ?
Origin isn’t part of the NRL competition though. This argument is just plain dumb …you are comparing two different things …
The WA Govt also is paying the NRL $5m for Origin games ... including one in 2025 …also I assume they pay for the NRL games that take place in Perth every year ..
lol, there's dumb then there's this level of stupidity.Exactly
A league super rugby rugby union tests even soceroos will all benefit from the stadium upgrade
The actual money the wa govt is contributing for league directly is 100 million
lol, there's dumb then there's this level of stupidity.
HBF Park will only get $300mill+ spent on it for an NRL club. No NRL club, no spend. Its not being done for the benefit of others, its being done for the benefit of the NRL club.
So those codes can't use it once it is done?
