With the WA election in march they realistically need to get the deal done before it goes into caretaker mode in first week of feb. Best get their skates on.

Rumours labor could roll Albo so png too
I thought it was clear that PNG has bipartisan support from both Labor and Liberals.

Why is WA so dependent on government support? They like to beat their chests and remind us how rich their state is. Seems like that money doesn't go very far if the corporates can't be bothered coming in and investing into a national sporting franchise. That franchise will bring in dollars through tourism and other avenues. There's plenty of money to be made there for the right investors.

Either the corporates over there don't understand how it could work which seems unlikely or more likely they just can't be bothered supporting rugby league.

the NRl wants the mula and a club needs the infrastructure paying for.
Locals offered to invest, and were spat on, for the second time,
In reality the NRL has largely neglected WA for nearly 30 years, going so far as to insult us and the game here a few years ago. Its hardly surprising rich folk aren't falling over themselves to be associated with it here.

The spitting game started when your fearless leader offered them "zero" on the bidding process, and you know he was told several times to actually bid for the licence, so make sure your remember who got spat on first, before peddling this propaganda that you wrote above...

I told you if perth linked up with the bears, they'd be in, it's was all going swimmingly, unfortunately the knob I said that the nrl wouldn't want to work with, once again fkd it all up, all they needed to do was get the licence, they could figure out the rest of the minutiae afterwards, instead he blames everyone else for the lack of funds. (and he never had all anyways)

But wait the WA govt is on his side, I'll tell you a secret, the WA govt was on everyone who bids side, which includes the bears going alone...
It's the reason PVL is so desperately trying to make this work regardless of the cumins fkup

This is what 309 million budget gets you in Sydney. Two stands and one is very basic
Just announced hbf park will host some Asia cup games in March 2026. Doesn’t leave much time to get the stadium upgraded if they were aiming to get it done before an nrl team kicked off in 2027. Maybe year 1 would have to be played at optus which would be a shame and a sht fight with afl.

Play at hbf whilst it’s renovated

Three stands are fine as is

Do the main stand first then the standing terrace bit when it’s done and open

Would the Asia Cup want the improvements? Ideally they could get part done by then.

Depends on if they have already started the design and planning. I suspect they haven’t so it’d be hard to see them doing it in 12months or so. you’d think the west stand replacement is going to take longer than that with design, planning, public consultation, demolition and rebuild. Possible they could get a roof over south stand and sort north stand out in 12 months if that is in the plans but probably not the main thing that needs doing, the west stand.

Do the new stands hold more people?

Yeah it was one of the 1st questions members asked especially those with Grandstand seats.

General public have roughly 1500 more seats. Expanded corporate take up the other 1000.

Not as good as the 30k seats originally planned especially with the growth in the area but not a bad plan B
