Great to see us giving WA youth players more chance this year;

The WA Rugby League and WA Reds are please to confirm the appointment of Daniel Green as the SG Ball Head Coach for season 2011 – 2012. Daniel has a long established background in Rugby League both here in Western Australia and on the eastern seaboard in NSW competitions. The WA Rugby League believe that Daniel will bring a professional approach to the WA Reds SG Ball program continuing the outstanding work of departing Head Coach Andrew Korn.
The WA Reds are excited at the prospects of the team for the forthcoming season, as this year the WA Reds staff will focus their recruitment on home grown talent from WA, the team will carry a squad of 40 players with no less than 35 of those players coming from Western Australia. The coaching staff agrees with the WA Rugby League that the future of the WA Reds at SG Ball level lies within Western Australia giving local players an opportunity to play Rugby League at an elite level.

Hmmmm. Interesting appointment. Can't ever remember Daniel coaching a team before - big ask to jump in at this level. Continuation of the South Perth nepotism?
