The dogs are the best in the competition at the moment. Look at what the dogs did to the Roosters and Panthers. Would you call the Panthers and Roosters sh*t teams? I think that if we had good luck with injuries the team would be sitting between 6th and 10th.
I agree with you. I wasn't criticising the team just making comment that it was what we started the year with.

Pretty close to the team that ran out against the dogs in round 1 isn't it?

Yeah - but lets not forget that the same team beat the Broncos in round 2 - oh, and without Lyon!

Argghh the injury curse continues, Wade has been one of a few shining lights in a bleak season.
As the season is over in terms of the finals (barring a miracle), like to see Someone like Reddy move into the fullback 8)

I'm not overly sorry - it may be a blessing.

Wade has been busting his gut. I'd rather see him go down at the tail end of this season than sometime next year, if only to give somebody else more game time at fullback

I'd go:

1. Wagon
2. Graham
3. Widders
4. Hopkins
5. O'Dwyer
6. Thorman
7. Pearson

   Wouldn't surprise me unfortunately

I would love to see Reddy get the call up rather than simply recycling the same 4 or 5 backs who have been doing an average job. He had a great game in the Reggies on Sat night.

Joel won't get a go. Think of it from Brian's position. He must avoid the spoon at all costs. So he will not just go all out and bring in untested young players. He only bloods new talent when we are on top.

You never know if we bring in another 5 debutants this weekend Brian can always point to the fact that we used 42 players in first grade this season. The most by any team in NRL history.

We do have to work under the second tier payment cap (300,000) as well.

So far we have had

Ben Smith
Jack Afamasaga
Luke O'Dwyer
Brett Anderson
Feleti Mateo
Fui Fui Moi Moi

Even if they are on a pittance of say 35-45000 a year or less it still adds up. That could well be a factor stopping any more young players who weren't considered a part of the Top 25 players being blooded.

Knowing Smith, it'd probably be:

Graham
Burt
Widders
Langi
Petersen

Graham was sh*tthouse on the wing, hows he gonna go at fullback. #-o

I'd rather have:

Petersen
Burt
Smith
O'Dwyer
Anderson/Gruzka

1. Burt
2. Graham/Grothe/Anderson
3. Smith/Langi
4. O'Dwyer
5. Petersen

He may be considering Anderson for fullback. That's where he's been named in JF this week. Maybe he wants to see how he goes and promote him vs Sharks.

Either that, or considering moving Reddy from PL to fullback, and considering playing Anderson at fullback in PL, hence trying him out there in JF.

And adding to that the need for the PL players to meet the eligibility criteria for their semis. I still think that may have played a part in Witt not playing the other night. I'm not sure what the exact rules are but is something along the lines of 5 of the last 7, or close to that effect. I can't see too many of the young kids getting a go at this stage.
