The Eels were dealt a blow before departing for Brisbane, with Daniel Wagon staying behind in Sydney due to a family bereavement.
Weller Hauraki is likely to start in place of Wagon while Josh Cordoba and Todd Lowrie have been included on a five man bench, the final make up of which will be confirmed on Friday.

there just doesn't seem to be anyone else in Hagan's mind. surely it is time to give someone else a go rather than Lowrie. Joe even??

Can Wagon stay with his family forever??

Can't wait to see Lowrie hitting the field at the 20 minute mark...

Please let Cordoba be fit - but my bad feeling is that even if he is, Oake will miss out and Lowrie play anyway...

yes, please josh be fit to play, I wonder why we even signed big joe, if he is never going to get a go. He is a far better option than Lowrie.

This could be a good thing for Hauraki, right? It might be the start of something big.

Unless of course Hagan does something stupid, like pick players based on misguided loyalty rather than form.

Joe's signing seems a lot like when Hagan signed Reynoldson for the Knights. didn't matter who it was he just signed them anyway because there was some pressure on him to sign someone.

he obviously doesn't appear to be in Hages plans.

yeah but let me guess? Lowrie tries hard at training, f**k that he's shit and no matter how hard he tries at training he should be now where near firsts!

apparently Cordoba is up there are a replacement for Wags, and Todd is up there as a possible replacement for Fui as he's not well?

Obviously both changes would require a re-shuffle

big loss dont care how much you's hate Wagon ; last 2 weeks he has played awesome for us. He rarely misses tackles and he hits hard in defence.

So is it now official that our selection policy is done by some sort of seniority hierarchy and has nothing to do with what position you actually play?

Next picked is Lowrie regardless of injury. Then Joe presumably.

Riddell comes back and despite Keating showing ten times his ability at dummy half he waltzes back to 9. Kris Keating needs four injuries to the squad (could all be forwards, but the other 4 blokes have been there longer) to get a run?

Well, I guess at least it is in accordance with the jobs for the boys policy adopted with the Board, and the club in general.
