Are there many welsh players at the north wales crusaders or are they mostly English? Strange there is only one player in the squad.

Barely any. They do have an ‘A’ team, whereby one lad - Aled Davies - has gone on to make a few first team appearances.

That’s sad. They had a lot of potential when they first started up and quite a few locals have gone onto super league since.

Wrexham is just across the border from Liverpool, Manchester and all those RL areas like Wigan, St Helens, Warrington etc. In a way it isn't surprising most of their players would be from Northern England seeing as most Welsh players are from South Wales.

58 per cent of the squad or 20 players are born and bred Welsh boys. Also Chester Butler is the grandson of Colin Dixon a famous Welsh player and another moved to Wales as a young boy.

Add alot of the English born players who qualify through heritage have played in the Welsh under age national teams. It has a real Welsh feel, they may not beat Australia and England but they will compete against the other nations.

Proves they have made massive strides over the last 15 to 20 years.
