Wales 23 v England 10

Lee Briers has been the best player on the pitch by far. Good to see the NFP players (and coach) showing just what they can achieve.

Great to see.
I had a feeling that Wales would have more to play for and would put in a big one.
I hope they can keep it up, but I think fitness might let them down in the second half.

final score

Wales 33 v England 42

The difference between the teams...........fitness! Just like the Aus game in the WC.

Shame........Wales played well.

Just when it seemed the English might run all over Wales, the Dragons showed they weren't going down without a fight. Great performance from Wales, England? They are the core of the GB side and it's worrying to see the lack ofspirit shown in tonights match.

Where those guys in the crowd really Spaniards? Perhaps the lost tribe from Ibiza.

Guys, I read in todays paper the RFL is looking at placing their high profile players on central contracts to counter the moves from union. I think this is a good thing but can anyone shed more light because the papers here are saying the game has reached a critical level and if something isn't done to stem the tide of defections to the other code the game will quickly die out in the U.K. Is this the case or are the media exaggerating the demise of League in the U.K?

Yes it's true legend! The RFL plan to team up with Super League Europe to create some kind of funding arm to boost elite players contracts. The reports I have seen suggest that Keiron Cunningham could be the first player to benefit. It will start as just a pilot scheme, and if successfull will be extended to become what is being termed 'Club GB'.

The media in the UK are as usual exaggerating the issue, sure there are problems, but what's new about that in our game? It's probably more a case of wishfull thinking by the media.......how much can you really believe if they can't even remain impartial over a sporting issue?
