Every coach makes (massive) mistakes. Even the very good ones (see Luke O'Donnell out >>> Nick Graham in)

I was out in the City one night at about the time when the decision of the joint venture was first made. I bumped into a certain footballer who was a part of the joint venture`s plans and asked him about Hodgo. His response was that Pearce preferred Joel Caine over Hodgo and therefore Hodgo had little choice but to move on. It`s only hearsay, so it may or may not be 100% correct, but i can assure you it was straight from the mouth of a very prominent footballer.

Footballers can be as wrong as anyone else - hodgo had already signed with parra (and from memory junior was not even confirmed as coach at the same time as the jv was announced, I seem to remember a time when tommy was still thought to be in contention)

Cliff Lyons was a master of his trade and coming from a Tigers fan, Benji still has alot to do to if he is to become greater than cliffy

Benji is 21 and has already achieved as much as Lyons. Please remember at 21 Lyons was playing reserve grade at norths or cronulla

Benji is a good player, but has a mile more work to do untill he is even compared to Cliffy.
I seem to remember a certain game in which Ben Kennedy scored three tries by running straight over the top of Benji, i wouldnt be crowing about his defensive efforts.
Mate you keep crapping on about Cliffy being 21 in RG, so what?
Benji has already had a million shoulder recons. Cliffy played till he was 35, i doubt Benji will last till he is 28.
I dont see your logic...
Don't even get me started on his form this year..

Yes, but the topic under discussion isn't how much either player achieved during their careers, but how well they played. Saying 'Benji is 21 and has already achieved as much as Lyons, therefore he is better than Lyons', is like me saying 'Anasta has achieved as much as Lyons, and still hasn't retired, therefore he is better than Lyons', or 'any player that has been in a Premiership winning team is better than Andrew Ettinghausen or Matt Rogers, because neither of those players ever won a premiership at all.'

Your comments about the Sea Eagles of the mid 1990s, and their players' calibre, are similarly ridiculous. If the 2001 Parramatta outfit were statistically the most dominant in recent history, the Sea Eagles weren't far behind. Minor premiers three years running, including one in which they only lost four games, and 9 players chosen for the Kangaroos at one time.
