Warriors thump Bulldogs

As it stands with the game almost over the Warriors are killing the Bulldogs 34-8 in what can only be descibed as their best performance of the season and they are now within reach of their maiden semi final which would be a great boost for the game in N.Z and may be a determining factor in the race for Jonah Lomus signature. The Warriors defended brilliantly and their defence was bruising with some good shots saved for ex-warrior Nigel Vagana who had his worst game by far in doggies colours.

With the Warriors finishing with a relatively easy draw and three of their games at home, Daniel Anderson needs to keep the team from jumping forwards towards the semis and take each game at a time. There is also a real chance the Warriors could leapfrog both the Roosters and the Dragons who have horror runs into the semis.

For mine the Warriors defining moment for this season was the period of play five minutes before halftime when they were defending their own line and Brent Sherwin knocked on on the last tackle to ensure the Warriors went to the break with an eight point lead and from there they were never really challenged. Congratulations to the Warriors on an excellent performance and a great win.

The Warriors are really playing with heart at the moment. The Knights had their hands full last week and the dogs were well beaten this week. The Warriors have beaten three of the top four and given the other one a big scare. Pity they haven't been giving the same effort against the lesser sides.
If they make the top eight I don't think anyone will be keen to draw them for the first final.

You're absolutely right Legend - the Warriors feet must stay on the ground after this one, because quite frankly I was left wondering if the Dogs had a bookie's number on the speed dial of their cellphones, just like the game against Canberra. You'd think a club making multi-millions out of pokie profits and throwing massive money at Craig Gower and Henry Paul could at least make sure there's enough financial incentive for theirplayers tonot throw matches, but that's what they said about South African cricket...; )

Well done to the Warriors though - I heard Palea'aesina said "smash 'em for me" to the boys thatcame to visit him in his hospital bed, andto a man the whole forwardpack really stood up. Seu Seu,Campion, Villasanti and Lauiti'itiwere hard to split they were so good.

In the backs though I thought we were actually pretty ordinary, with far too much ball dropped from silly passes or just shocking hands. Hopefully Daniel Anderson will have realised how important it is to address this at training this week, and will really drive it into the players thattheir errors tonight would've been enough to lose themplenty of games in the future.

Providing they have an opposition that is actually trying, that is.....

you,re right about that period just before half time legend. traditionally a time when the warriors lose a game, and i was waiting for it last night.that shows to me , the advancenent that anderson has made by removing that black spot from our game.
great effort by our forwards, gerry seuseu will be one of the best in a season or 2 , campion held a grudge against anything canine last night and monty betham ?.can he get any better??
i think moving frank mrli to the centers upset the dogs attack. teams usually attack his wing but murphy was solid.henry picked up the pace a bit and toopi is another who will be world class very soon. it was a great team effort with the stats to prove it.

some credit must go to anderson, ridge and kemp but the majority goes to the team.we do have faith and now they have discovered heart.

that prick costigan needs his microphone shoved up his jacksy. he is the absolute worst caller there is and i urge all to drop sky a line at league@skytv.co.nz
and mention the fact that costigan is a one eyed, geniused idiot.

Congratulations to the Warriors.
Their staunch defence, andentertaining attack, was just too good for the Bulldogs on the night.
I hope to see the Warriors, and the brand of football they displayed last night, in the final eight come 'show time.'
Maybe it's just what the Dogs needed, after their unexpected victory over the Broncos in the previous round. Just maybe, they came into this game a little cocky, and somewhat underestimated the ability of theWarriors.
The Bulldogs will be back .... mark my words.

The time has come for Fox Sports Australia to step in and say "Hey, we are sick and tired of this crappy coverage Sky are giving us". Fox should send some professionals over to NZ to not only call the game but produce it as well.

At least when Graeme Hughes was there he might have been a chance of at least calling the Dogs to a win!

Cheers.
