Ok, then I'll leave it.

Either your usual exemplary delivery let you down this time or it was just an ass of a joke that probably wasn't required. To say it was taken out of context or misquoted in the scheme of conversation is a stretch. You enjoy pushing the boundaries.

Simply an observation that our pre-season luck hasn't yet been as bad as last year's.

Blake Harrison's injury won't hurt our first grade team in 2013, but if it adversely affects his future development as a player then it will have been a terrible pre-season.

Sound like this guy has/had a big future. Very disappointing.

I wonder if he was wakeboarding. If so, I blame the board.

I know he's only a young bloke and you can't stop them from having fun in the offseason, but at the same time, you'd think a rising star would try to limit the risky activities. Hope he's on the mend soon.

I know for a fact that if he were a "young bloke" baseballer his contract would have been terminated by now.

A guy in the Illawarra died last year from an infection caused by cutting himself on a leaf from date palm tree - sh?t happens, the kid is 17 - he was only on water skiing - surfing can be dangerous as well and plenty of players talk about their love of surfing.

They shouldn't.

I'd wager that water skiing is more dangerous than surfing. Yes, shit happens, but it's more likely to happen when you undertake risky activities. His choice and unfortunately, it could be a career ender. Let's hope not.

Some sportsmen in USA are banned from surfing and other pastimes that might end up in injury. It's written into their contracts and that's accepted as one of the sacrifices of being a pro sportsman.

Well I see there are still a load of morons in here...fancy someone having a hobby! FFS...

I did almost the same thing to my knee originally, except the medial cartilage. I feel awful for the kid, I'm only just back 100% right 6 years later. He's a lot luckier in that he has the medical support of a football club but it is a nasty, nasty injury. Fingers crossed he recovers

That's fair enough too. Clubs invest alot of money in players, and don't want to be paying them to sit on the sideline.
