wayne bennett poaching our players

hi guys i am new to this site, but joined up to vent my frustrations, about our early season player movement. i want to point this out remember at the start of last season when mr bennett reminded us fans he would not tear our team apart, what a crock of rubbish he is doing exactly that by chasing our off contract stars, i read an article in the paper quoting our players were chasing him, bull crap, beau scott has been happy at the dragons, but i guess he is just chasing the dollar signs, i bet if the knights only offered him 250,000 he would not have went, what happened to bennetts policy of no forward is worth more than 300,000, it is clear bennett knows he does not have the team at the knights to go all the way so he will poach players that have been there done that, nearly all the knights team consists of former dragons the knights have been poaching our players since i can remember.

You guys wouldn't have gotten within a mile of the premiership without Bennett. It was ok when Bennett brought your CCM and 2nd in the Dally M running fullback in Boyd and increase Sowards ability by 300%. Throw in Weyman, Scott, Costigan, Fien, Jeremy Smith. Hypocrisy is a word I am sensing here.

Weyman unwanted at Raiders, Fein pushed out at Warriors mid-season, Costigan same as Weyman, Smith pushed out of Storm.......the link players from "various" clubs, not all from the same club. Sorry but what is going on now with Dragons and Bennett is setting a new low point. NRL get in there are sort this out with.
A. Mid-season 2 week player window exchange (would allow to cover players on the outta who could fill in for a season to cover long=term injury etc)
B. Oct to Nov season end transfer window.

In Europe /Soccer they can swap countries for gods-sake, we're talking suburbs or states in worst case scenario NZ !!! Surely 6weeks is enough time to wheel/deal and announce!

It is a by product of having the most successful coach in the history of the game and being the benchmark for 2 and a half years. He turned these players into stars and now you can't offer the money to compete. You guys have a great nursery and good young talent coming through.

Players leave, especially when a team is successful. It's bound to happen..What shits me is that obviously with these players gone we have cash to spend...so I want to know..WHO THE f**k ARE WE GETTING? Why is every f**king player linked to the Roosters and Dogs when we have a squillion to spend? Bennett is on record as saying he came to a club that wasn't a basket case, he praised Nathan Brown. It's obvious there was already a strong structure in place at Saints and this was instrumental in Bennett's decision to coach us.

As for your maths on the players. Do some research before you embarrass yourself further. With the exception of J Smith, all those players were discards from other clubs. Using your logic, Newcastle must be a mess by comparison when you look at the number of players that have been brought in.

LOL! Yes, before Bennett we made no semi-final appearances or grand final appearances and never won a premiership in our 90 year history.

The biggest favor Bennett did for us was to turn us into referees darlings, although they turned on us at the back end last year. If we got that love under Brown we would have won a comp.

I don't know for sure and it isn't fact but Wayne was signed to deliver a premiership and he did. Wayne Bennett

Is there some sort of rule that says signing discards are allowed but quality players aren't. Beau Scott went from an average first grader to a NSW rep under Bennett, Bennett obviously rates him and he is off contract. If you guys buy the Stewart bros will that be ok?

I just love how the story changes as if people have the ability in hindsight to forget what Bennett brought to your club.

Newcastle aren't a mess, he is just developing a team he thinks can win him a title. Just like he did at the Dragons. It isn't up to Bennett to look after your team anymore, he isn't obligated to do anything other than look out for the Knights best interests. That is my point and why badmouthing Wayne when he did the exact same for you is a tad hypocritical, not aimed at you but the OP and the general Bennett is evil bs that is snowballing.
