Wednesday night from 730pm

Could be a tricky game for us. We should win. A loss would set us back a bit considering we still have in form kiwis and poms to play.

A must win game unless it's washed out. I see Pakistan in competition with us for a remaing top 4 spot with England and India certainties and NZ near certainties. Although NZ still to run the gauntlet of India and England themselves so a bit can still happen.

I think we'll be seeing a fired up Pakistan side, as against the one that showed up for their opening match against the Windies.

We win this and Pakistan are in danger of an early exit, especially with India to come for them who'd love nothing more than to knock them out.

Hopefully we see some team changes. Namely a strengthened bowling attack.
I'd have Behrendorf in for Stoinis and maybe Lyon in for Zampa.
Davey not batting like it's the first innings in an Ashes test might help too.

Yep, definitely a quality bowler down, the gap between our Starc and Cummins to the next 2 is huge. Not picking Hazelwood and having Jyiaeui Richardson injured has exploited that. We have to try Behrendorff over Coulternile although I don't think he'll fix much. Lyon probably won't take as many wickets as Zampa but maybe 0/50 Is better than 2/75.
The biggest issue which the brains trust at LU saw a long time ago is that Stoinplod is shit and can't be trusted to bowl more than 3 or 4 overs. Then you've got to find 6 more from Maxwell or someone else.

I wonder if the brains trust of Finch and JL are holding back some tactics against the big guns... just a bit?

Behrendorff has played against Kholi in 3 matches (both t20 and ODI) got him out 3 times. I reckon he is in the side when we play India next. Not opening the attack with spin is another option I say we use later on.

While we are trying to win every game, I dont think that would be the main goal for this tournament, make the semi finals is. Dropping 2-3 matches, possibly 4, who cares? as long as the NRR Isnt terrible and we win the matches we should be. I reckon 5 good wins could get you in the semis

As I understand it top 4 go through to the semis

1 will play 4
2 will play 3

Assuming Poms and India are the top 2, we have no escape we will play at least one of them again, possibly both of them again. We need some different plans to throw them off.

Back to my first sentence, maybe we just don't have the brains , hence disregard what I wrote after

5 could get you in, but I wouldn’t risk it. Especially with the English weather.

Hopefully whoever replaces Stoinis has a good game and keeps both Stoinis and Marsh out for the remainder of the comp.

I reckon Stoinis might be out for the tournament now. Hard to bowl with a side strain, and without bowling he's even more useless than he already is.

Pity we didn't send Hazlewood over.

Maybe? Stoinis has set the bar really low.
Concern over Marsh is lack of game time recently. I'm sure hi's net form is incredible though so it'll be fine I'm sure.

Might have a clear his mind up and be fresh between the ears for a levers assault :D

Makes me wonder if Faulkner was considered at all?

No other world cup has had more than the 3 games in this edition that have had no result due to weather. Looks likely there'll be more too.

Yeah, unfortunately over the next few days to a week, weather looks bleek in a lot of the WC venues
Could be a tragedy for Australia as our easier games are coming up now

Champions trophy all over again. Reserve days wouldn't have helped as they'd have been washed out too.
