Cracker of a match

Poms lose and they are basically out of the cup (provided Pakistan beat Bangers)

Kiwis lose and they could also be out if their NRR falls below Pakistans, so if they are going to lose they would want to not be thrashed

Note: Bangers also a chance to make top 4 but would need to beat both India and Pakistan, highly unlikely

Assuming both these sides make the semis (and finish 3rd and 4th), one of them will have 7 days rest before their semi final match. One of Team India or Australia will have a 2 day rest for their semi final.

Probably need our resident mathematician AG to check the math on this

3/7 England v NZ

6/7 Aust v SA
6/7 India v SL

9/7 semi final 1
11/7 semi final 2

Radio Sport (here in NZ) crunched the numbers this morning. According to them, even we if we lose to England by 150 runs, the only team capable of catching us on NRR is Bangladesh and they will who have to beat Pakistan and India by a similar amount of runs.

That's settled then

Kiwis to win by 1 run or 1 wicket :D

Honestly, I am not sure if that's correct, or not. But basically, I think Australia will play the loser in a semi

2 day rest not a big deal for the Aussies, as the game will be at the same venue as their final game, plus they’re coming off a 7 day rest.

We haven't played well yet which is a real worry

The Poms have been patchy and have a shithouse performance in them, but their top end is only matched by India

On the one hand if England win that sets up the possibility of an England V India Semi (If we beat SA) and a Good Vs Evil final (Aus - We're good guys now or NZ) Vs the evil empires of England or India.

On the other hand if NZ win, that sets up the possibility of England not making it if Pakistan win.
England sweating out a Pakistan Vs Bangladesh game is probably the best scenario so go NZ!

Yep, that's about as clear mud.

Traditionally a fairly low scoring ground but recently a few high scores.
England were headed for 360 - 380 against us last year if we didn't bat first, but that was against the fearsome bowling of Stanlake, Agar and Neser... so yeah.
