At least Guptill tried to create a run rate. I’m not sure what Nicholls thinks he’s achieving at this point.

Nicholls is a #5, our out and out weakness is opening bat

You’re right, we just have no one better apart from maybe Latham who’d be pretty similar.

Nicholls is a good nugget. Certainly a better option than Munro. Probably more a four than an opener but all runs are valuable in a WC final.

Plus if he strikes at 65 but allows De BigMan and Santner decent opportunity to go hard at the end surely that's a plus?
