WCC should be played Fri night 3rd weekend of October

At the location where the big end of season internationals are on

Or get a sheik to fund the game in Dubai or Qatar

Lots of empty football stadiums ready to use

An issue for a long time has been the seeming reluctance of the UK sides to travel down here. If it ever restarts, it should be 2 weeks after the Grand Finals (try and match them up to finish the same weekend) which allows time for transport & acclimatisation.

Like i have already said I'm sure if the UK clubs got the same generous expenses that NRL clubs get when they go the the UK the UK clubs would come here

Another big event for the international league calendar could also return early next year. The WCC - a traditional clash between the NRL and Super League champions - hasn’t been staged since 2020 due to the pandemic. However, there’s a chance that Penrith and St Helens could clash, most likely on Australian soil, for the mantle of the world’s best rugby league club.

Negotiations are being held between the respective leagues and Panthers coach Ivan Cleary, speaking in his post-match grand final press conference, said he was keen on the idea.

Ideally you could have the premiers go over to England in February for the game (1 trial), come back to Australia for their 2nd trial, and then have the bye in Round 1 (2 week rest) whilst the 17 team competition continues.

The issue though with that is it risks the participation of players for the All Stars game, which is huge for the respective cultures.
