EXTRA TIME
Harrigan said:
Cronulla coach Stuart Raper dragged my position with the Roosters into the spotlight again after Saturday night's game.

To insinuate the referees are giving the Roosters some latitude because I'm working with them is a blight on the current referees and a dangerous area to tread.

Raper suggested the Roosters push the boundaries off the line and around the ruck. Well, you don't get booked for doing 60 in a 60km/h zone.

Well you dont get booked for doing 60 in a 60kmh zone.
Sometimes you dont get booked for doing 70kmh in a 60 zone either.
It depends who you are.

The Roosters pushed it all night.
Went over a few times too.

But what got me is the marker area.
How far are the 2 markers allowed to be from the bloke playing the ball? Is there a set distance in the rules?

I just watched a tape of the game. and all night Mander gave the Roosters small but significant advantages ie Kept us back a bit more by running further back, allowing the Roosters 5meters on the first tackle. We where quick to get off the tackled player because we didnt want to give away penalties, the Rooster stayed on longer slowing play, ok not much, but enough.Plus Three forward pases that where not marginal. Also getting in the way of Cronnulla players twice. Ok none of these things led to Trys being scored. But taken over the whole game it makes the defence work harder and blunts the attack. Have a look and tell me what u think? Why dont we hire an ex referee ?
