Over the last 18 months each and everyone of us has been guilty of at least one of the following. Some almost all of them.

  • Bennett is past it, needs to go
  • Beau Scott is a terrible, overpaid signing
  • Jeremy Smith is too old and injury prone
  • We don't need Willie the grub Mason
  • Jarrod Mullen will never live up to his potential, ship him off
  • We shouldn't re-sign Uate

That is just of the top of my head and i've read them all here over the last 18 months. And most were fairly popular opinion around here.

And this isn't 'i told you so' thread because i am probably the most guilty in regards to the Tyrone one, i got pretty harsh on Mullen towards the end of last year saying if he didn't find it this year he never will and after the cowboys loss i said i think Bennett may be past it and prob never able to get us to turn the corner.

I was in favour of every signing and they've all blown past my expectations.

Which ones have you been guilty of? If you haven't been guilty of a single one well done, you deserve to enjoy this month more than most. I was eating severe crow last night watching Tyrone - he proved me way wrong the last few weeks.

BJ being a bigger version of Sau. Not in that exact way, rather I thought it would have been the better option to put Kev in there and be able to hold onto him. I thought BJ's signing wasn't worth the risk of his behavioural issues.

How wrong I was...

I thought signing Willie was lunacy and wondered what the f**k Uncle Wayne saw in a has-been who'd done nothing for 6 years but slowly go off the rails?

I cant recall making any blatant comments like those. Happy to be proved wrong though.

I have negative thoughts about the club and players all the time, I just think I am able to filter them and not put them on the internet before I have had a chance to rationalise them.

No issue with being so invested in the team you make knee-jerk reactions. It is a coping mechanism.

I'm not any of those.

Only thing I've been critical of is this teams ability to play consistent and be a top team. I've written them off as a team based on some performances.

I can honestly say I don't think I've ever felt any of those to any great degree.

I'm not trying to claim I knew all along we'd make the prelims or anything but I always liked our signings and except for maybe a little period in the middle of last year I always had faith that Wayne knew what he was doing, and I maybe thought Tyrone wasn't that great at one point as well.

Get rid of Houston was also thrown around.

It should be pointed out a lot of the negativity was warranted either as a team or against an individual - but they as a unit and to a man have turned it around. The point is we should have faith that Bennett can see what we see and is working on what shortcomings we see.

I think Tim is right, some of us just vent a lot more than others especially during games and immediately after. However the line is drawn when that becomes an agenda for a poster and they push that agenda across multiple threads and weeks and some of these agendas were def pushed and gained momentum. Me with the tyrone one for sure.

The one that bothered me most was how long it took for some to realize Snowden was actually doing well for us.

Even though he's missing this awesome period of form he's been one of our best this year.

And aqua duck ripping into Bennett and his tactics hard.

none of them. I read with amusement most of the comments on here before I joined the forum. Some very observant minds but very few positive people on here. People should always remember a hobby to us is a profession to others .To doubt the greatest coach in the history of our game is just plain silly. No further comment required.

Yeah I'll cop Houston. I wanted him and Costigan gone for good after about 6 rounds this year.

I think we're all guilty of Costigan, but that one is justified even to this day - he let us down during his contract. He's been solid the last few weeks - all we'll be forgiven if he solids his way to a premiership.

I'm guilty of Bennett bashing and of Roberts doubts.

I don't feel either of them have been completely vindicated yet. Up until Week 25 of this season I would have said we had a terrible attitude, played dour & negative defensive football, and seemed incapable of committing to a result.

We've dispelled a lot of that now, but I'd like to see us actually look like a decent side for consecutive weeks in the regular season. Watching us for large chunks of this year was downright brutal.

Roberts has matured wonderfully in the past couple of months. I think the criticisms leveled at him early on were justified, but a lot of players struggle early on and come good. Hopefully he's gaining the kind of confidence he needs to continue improving as a player.

Yeah House and Costigan are two blokes I wanted hooked and couldn't believe got a spot against the Dogs in Mackay. So wrong. House has gone from a shack to a mansion since that day while Nev has been so under the radar, his stats per game absolutely shock me.

I've done well, only guilty of one - that Bennett was past it and needed to go.

Oh and I told you so re: Roberts.

I think I've been more guilty of blaming the whole team for losses and poor performances, don't really single anyone out.

I know there's been a few games we've lost that afterwards I've thought to myself that I had no hope for the team. Thankfully, that feeling usually only lasted a few days and I think I've stuck pretty strong with the team for the most part.
