We need to stick with one half!!!!

I know Dykes is injured but with that in mind we need to promote the right player to half back and leave ONE player there while Dykes is out of action!!!!!!

Our problem is that noone knew who was leading last night, Witt was named at half then 1 hour before the game Thorman slots into halfback.............no wonder the team is confused!!!!!!

I don't care who Smith puts in there just stick with that player and build something around him!!!!!!!!!

Thorman was publically named 1hr before the game. I'd be amazed if he hadn't trained there all week with Witt at 5/8.

Do you SERIOUSLY think that Brian just made up his mind on game day that Thorman would be half?....the team knows what's planned well in advance.

I do have an issue with lack of continuity from week to week - there is no combination forming - partly to blame on injuries and partly on Smithy chopping and changing things too much.

If that is the case and he had trained there all week then the coach has to take PART of the blame for Thorman not really leading us round the park very well!!!!!!!! I know we lost last week but atleast we had a good chance of winning, this week we were gone after their first try!!!

I know once the players get out on the field it is up to them but it is the coaches job to get them prepared and BS has not done that in the last 3 seasons. It is time for him to move on and build another club, he would be great if the central coast came in or maybe he could go to the cowboys? I could handle if he and Graham Murray swapped!!!!

I think another reason Thorman played was the conditions in New Zealand. The strong wind meant our kicking game would be very important.

BS doesnt use Witt right, he needs to use him as a halfback, not a 5/8. He is good at organising the play and also needs to forwards to go well, then Witt controls the kicking game and gives it out wide when needed, then youve got Dykes/Morris who plays 5/8 and creates the numbers. Two playmakers in the backline is what Parramatta needs.

Couldn't agree more. Smith wants him to work on his game but how can he work on being a halfback when he gets shunted between half and 5/8 every second week. I think he has played one game at halfback in Premier League.

This is flat out not true!

Damn straight- I almost chocked on my breakfast when I read that. He has no idea how to organise a team- and Thorman has less than no idea. Face it Dykes is our best half by a mile- Witt is terrible and Thorman is quite possibly the worst player ever to wear a Parra jersey- what about his kick from dummy half straight into the marker- he didn't even pick the ball up- coupled with his disgraceful intercept pass (where Stacey Jones actually pulled away from him in the run to the line), and his kick on the first tackle- the guy is a joke.

Halfback and 5/8 doesn't seem to be a high priority at Parra these days. We are more focused on forwards and wingers. Why would we need to have a good half combination......its over-rated anyway. We don't need good halfs to be successful!!

Witt should be given a chance at halfback....you know to actually play halfback

and yes, i wouldn't be surprised at all if it came out that Brian Smith just shoved Thorman in at half an hour before the game, because if they trained all week for them in the halves.......they need to improve their training cause it didn't show

no one knew who was playing where, it was inept an embarrassing

and good one BS, you sure fooled everyone naming Thorman at lock, what a master stoke

Regardless of when Thorman knew he was starting....he has played a stack of games with Witt outside him at 5/8. Shouldn't have been to much of a big deal.

except for the fact that in reality, Witt is a halfback and Thorman is a 5/8, just like boys have a penis and girls have a vagina....to quote the little kid from Kindergarten Cop.....its that simple........play peopl in their positions and it will help the team enourmously

and if BS must pick Corep Pearson, tell him to get in and run the ball, not having pansying about trying to play like a 5/8??????????
