The San Francisco 49ers have announced that Jim Tomsula has been relieved of his head coaching duties.

“Jimmy has been a valuable member of the 49ers organization for the last nine years,” said CEO Jed York. “We all know he is a man of high character, and his contributions on the field and in our community have always been greatly appreciated. This entire organization is proud and grateful to have worked so closely alongside Jimmy. We all wish him and his family great success in the future.”

49ers Chief Executive Officer Jed York will personally address the matter at 10:30 a.m. Monday morning in the Levi’s® Stadium Auditorium.

Good riddance

If only that would fix the problem, while ever Baalke and Jed are there no decent coach will come to town

To be honest with the players on there roster, I think Chip Kelly would be perfect. 2 QB's, so he can work out which is best for his system. Very contrasting style to what they have been doing. Seems like a good fit.

My feeling is that Kelly will be the hire.

Two weeks ago the reports were that Tomsula would be back. Chip gets fired and then all the reports changed to Tomsula being out.

It certainly would be interesting to see whether Chip could salvage Kap

Yes!

Thank f**k. Won't solve all our issues of course, but no matter who we get surely it can't be any worse, especially as it will no doubt come with a new offensive coordinator.

WTF has happened to Rodgers and the Packers O?

Can't believe it's just due to the loss of Jordy Nelson

Winston at least showed enough that he could be the guy to lead the franchise for the next decade?

Not sure who the Packers lost on the OLine as I don't watch them enough, but Rodgers just has so much pressure on him, and as the season has worn on, it's been getting to him and he is playign scared. Packers need to draft OL 1st, 2nd and 3rd (or get quality free agents in). Protecting Rodgers should be the goal. Geez, look at how well the Steelers Oline protect Ben, which keeps them in games even if the Steelers defense is rubbish.

I agree with that, but even so there are plays where he gets protection and no one is open, seems the offensive scheme is just not getting guys open

And they'll be rid of Hayne before Tomsula is out of the door.

Where there are scapegoats,as is Haynes failed experiment, the next coach will dust out any gimmicks the last coach used to grasp at straws in trying to salvage his own career.:lol::lol:

I don't watch much of the Packers but when I do it seems that they do not have much of a short passing game such as that which Manning and Brady have thrived upon over the years. Seems to me it is all about intermediate and deeper pass plays followed by screens, which I believe stats suggest they are the best at executing.
