This is not going away. Read the SMH article if you have access. It says the rule now is that you can only stop play if you need a Dr to enter the field of play.

Swings and roundabouts, but it shines a light on Pennys who on one hand are seeking protection for their 7 with a bung shoulder, yet are happy to be the merkin and when it comes to stopping play to stifle momentum.

Yep, it’s only a rort when you’re not in on it.

That should meanthe touch judge / ref is in trouble as well. They should know that the trainer has to be with the injured player to make an assessment.

Whatever punishment, if any the review comes up with, won't be enough. There is more incentive to do it then not. The ARLC is piss weak and always to worried about the optics and media criticism to be brutal enough to stop coaches taking the micky out of the game.

Watch the review at the end of the season on the game. It will tinker with some issues, but won't have anywhere near enough teeth to stop coaches just continuing on their merry way.

Who gives a f**k it’s not like it’s going to change the result, the Panther trainer took a risk and got away with it. Good luck to him. We are a very naive football team we seem to be on the ends of this stuff all the time.

Yeah that will do us a world of good lol.

We were sorted. It is amazing how quick Annersley comes out against us (vs Roosters and against Manly last year) but he can't see anything wrong this time.

Hopefully highlighting the problem now will stop Chinriff and other teams using this tactic going forward.

FFS trainers should only be on the field for serious injuries like dismemberment or decapitation! F$%kn game is too soft these days FFS!

Annesley is a puppet that toes the company line. I tune out whenever he talks now as he is one of the best deflectors to ever be involved in rugby league

Even if they have no intention to do so, The NRL should announce that such actions are cheating and subject to forfeiture of the result. Might scare them and the next Coach that contemplates it. I say coach because if you watch Tales from Fu*ken Tiger Fu*ken Town there is video of Madge screaming at his trainer to stop the game. Ive no doubt Cleary did the same.

The only thing that will abate my rage, is watching them lose to a dud call/s against the NRL darling Storm.

Panffers fans and Ivan will be heard whinging from space. As will Eels fans laughter.

If the trainer approached the touch judge to stop play before attending to the player than the officials is also at fault by disregarding the procedure.
The only way to stop these things is to introduce a points penalty for the following season.

Just stopping in for a welfare check.

I know he’s controversial and the butt of humour, but a couple of the lads at west tigers forum saw that game and are really warming up to Bea as a coach…..if you don’t want him.

If the execution was wanting at times etc, the mental toughness of the eels was extraordinary and ffs we want a piece of that!

Cheers.
