Analysis: The Penrith Panthers have named a star-studded squad for their final trial match before the regular season begins. Superstar trio Dylan Edwards, Brian To’o and Nathan Cleary headline the team but it will be interesting to see how many minutes they end up spending on the field come Friday night. Fans will get to see Freddy Lussick for the first time in Penrith colours after an impressive pre-season, while Casey McLean, Liam Martin, Scott Sorensen, Liam Henry and Jack Cogger have been left out.

Lussick at 14 would be interesting. Comments elsewhere said he played a lot of forward for warriors reserve grade.

Alamoti has played some great games at centre for us. Played there throughout the 2024 finals and that was some of the best footy he has played in his career. Been years since Tago had a run of games that were as good as Paul at the end of 2024 and casey has not yet put a run together that long.

Yeah but Tago is Ivan's boy for better or worse. Took years of bad form to be dropped to the bench for a single game

The bloke I think who has jumped the queue early is Zak Clarke. Could be a Smokey to debut much quicker than anticipated. Big body, moves quick, good defender and also a goal kicker.

The depth in NSW Cup looks good.

If he is resting Casey then it makes sense. Alamoti just need a few miles in the legs, centre or wing doesn't matter much. Gets a bit of match fitness for Milky so who plays where pretty much decides itself.
I believe it would be beneficial to see Milky in the centres. We now know he can handle the wing at NRL level.

So good seeing a team list again.

Garner not named or even listed as 'left out'. He always seems to have a niggle.
