Can't remember who mentioned it but I really like the keahn skipps shout for the bench. I got a feeling he could even play all over the backline. You could have him and 5 forwards then.
He’s not ready, he’s so young, the trial match was a perfect illustration of that,

A year in cup and I think he’ll be a good shout.

All the players people say need a year in reserve grade before they can be considered is ludicrous. Its literally every guy under 22 you mention someone in here will be saying "oh yeah he needs a year" like that makes them clever. If everyone who that is said about still needed a year we would have only 25 year olds debuting. Put some thought into it instead of repeating the same boring lines which are just cut and paste comments for every player of a certain age.

I'm definitely concerned about the perpetual benchies not getting game time over the course of the year. Imagine Cogger or Lussick get next to zero competetive game time in either NRL or cup all year, then Nath or Kenny go down in a prelim/GF. You wouldn't want a guy coming in raw in a situation like that. At the very least we should be looking at a rotation, having one of our utility options playing cup every other week or something like that.

Well he wasn't for a good portion of last year.

He was being outplayed by Jenkins. It was a good kick up the arse for Paul.
At no moment was this true but Ivan got there in the end at least.
Milky did well but he's not the same tier of player.

Evidently it was. Ivan seems to disagree mate.

Paul is very talented. But he wasn't behind Jenkins for shits and giggles.

Go watch the games. Alamoti was our best back to start and finish the year. The reason he was dropped doesn't line up with on field performance that's for sure

Something isn't adding up here Umina. Some thorough video review might be needed.

Our best back all year got dropped for a laugh?

Could be something off field. Not putting in as much at training as he could anything is possible.

Entirely possible.

But for how long? All I know is that Jenkins absolutely killed it and was very unlucky to miss out on a finals spot.

Jenkins dropped on discipline too? I doubt it. The other bloke put his head down and pulled his finger out of his arse.

We'll never know but it was a bit odd dropping Alamoti as good as Jenkins was.

Sure. But the guy who came it absolutely killed it.

I don't really see the problem here really. Paul got outplayed and won the spot back. In the talent stakes he wins but talent doesn't automatically get you picked in first grade.

Alamoti is incredibly talented but absolutely had a few bad games prior to being dropped last year. Whether that was the whole story, who knows. Milky came in and killed it but probably deserved to be where he ended up at the end of the year, at least given how strong our first string backline is.

The whole situation was an incredible marker of where we are as a club. To be able to give a misfiring young talent time to work himself back into form while having a bloke who was looking at 3rd tier football at the start of the year come in and get onto the cusp of rep selection is a barely believable story. To have Alamoti come back as strong as ever when Milky began to slow down was pure gravy.
