Weekly email from Smith (Parra Members).....

Those of you who are members would have already read this but this comes from Smithy via Damien Kelly after the game every week.....

"Dear Sir or Madam,

The Melbourne Storm asked some really hard questions of us last Sunday, and we were simply not good enough to come up with the right answers. We are not playing with the confidence, poise or control that is needed to fight back from momentum and pressure, two elements which hit us hard on Sunday.

Although it can be argued that our inability to cross their line in the early stages of the second half was the “turning point” I think that is too simplistic a view. Yes, that was important, but so were the attacking opportunities that we had thwarted in the first half as a result of some poor decisions, both by us and the officials.

We have just 5 days to get it right before the Dragons come to town on Friday night. I don’t need tot ell you the importance of the match, and recent history indicates that the two teams always produce exciting and close games of football. The Dragons were one of the form sides of the competition a few weeks ago but have been savaged by injury, and a little like us, are just down on confidence. There will be nothing left out there on Friday night.

Finally, congratulations to Joe Grima and his Harold Matthews team for their wonderful Grand Final victory on Saturday. To go through any season undefeated is a wonderful achievement and to win the title this year after winning it last year when it was an Under15’s competition is something all of us can be really proud of."

Down on confidence bla bla bla. He's gotta wake up and realise that simply isn't good enough. His playing roster is responsible for the poor form, it's not 'confidence'. Smith should stop blaming others and instead blame himself once in a while.

ok, then I can blame Smith because I havn't won Lotto yet
or because Angelia Jolie isn't waiting for me in bed
or because I have a low paying job
or because Georgie is fat, ugly, smelly and needs his teeth fixed ;-)

So it's Smith's fault that Cayless broken his arm on Hannay's head?

Yeah, I can see your point. We were on fire before Cayless got injured. I went and threw $76.70 on us to win the grand final. I then went and threw double that on us to win the World Cup. After we scraped home against the all conquering Eagles I thought we had the comp by the scruff of the neck. Shame it's all gone pear shaped now.

True, in a time when most footballers are getting crabs off the field due to their activities, our players try and fit in by running that way on the field. Everyone rubbished Vella early on, but he now seems to be the only forward running it hard at the line with determination to break the line and also not always running back at the markers. Surely our forwards can run wider and cause more damage. Looking for the area behind the markers is a bad tactic and they always just get smashed.

so is it Smiths fault that Morris kicked the ball out on the full?
so is it Smiths fault that both morris and Burt failed to find the 10 metre?
so is it Smiths fault that our 40 20 was not awarded by ref?
so is it Smiths fault that that we were not awarded a penalty for the lifting tackle on morris?
so is it Smiths fault that Blaah blaah Blaaah..........of course not its the players responsibilty to play to the best of there abilitys and not like a pack of rejects from souths.

but it is Smiths fault for putting Dykes and Morris on the bench and for several player selections.
