Those of you who are members would have already read this but this comes from Smithy via Damien Kelly after the game every week.....
"Dear Sir or Madam,
The Melbourne Storm asked some really hard questions of us last Sunday, and we were simply not good enough to come up with the right answers. We are not playing with the confidence, poise or control that is needed to fight back from momentum and pressure, two elements which hit us hard on Sunday.
Although it can be argued that our inability to cross their line in the early stages of the second half was the turning point I think that is too simplistic a view. Yes, that was important, but so were the attacking opportunities that we had thwarted in the first half as a result of some poor decisions, both by us and the officials.
We have just 5 days to get it right before the Dragons come to town on Friday night. I dont need tot ell you the importance of the match, and recent history indicates that the two teams always produce exciting and close games of football. The Dragons were one of the form sides of the competition a few weeks ago but have been savaged by injury, and a little like us, are just down on confidence. There will be nothing left out there on Friday night.
Finally, congratulations to Joe Grima and his Harold Matthews team for their wonderful Grand Final victory on Saturday. To go through any season undefeated is a wonderful achievement and to win the title this year after winning it last year when it was an Under15s competition is something all of us can be really proud of."
