I guess it all comes down to how you play on the day... past performances mean sweet bugger all. The Wallabies have been struggling, yet theiy're in a WC Final. The All Blacks have been one of the form teams of late, and miss out. Sport can be cruel sometimes.

I actually do feel sorry for the Kiwis... this whole thing means a lot to them, and once again they fall short. And now they have to seemingly explain themselves to the NZ public...

I still wouldn't have selected most of those players, although Henry should be the next coach, I think Mitchell has shown an inability to change tactics when things don't go to plan. And Thorne needs to go too unfortunately; Jerry Collins for AB captain, we need some Buck Shelford style blood and thunder.

Jerry Collins is an awesome player. Am I the only one who thought he should have been sin-binned in the semi though? That high tackle seemed pretty reckless.

No way, it was hardly worth a penalty. Watch the replay, collins hit him in the shoulder and the tackle slid up, and what's more the player was falling as he made the tackle. There was nothing in it.

Merhtens surely would have made the penalty kicks that were missed against the Wallabies. But the style of play they had with Carlos is what had the AB's playing so well the last few months. It seems a cruel thing to me that they've lost.

Who thinks that if the AB's first try had counted, they would have won?

Steve, I think if that first try had been awarded or Mortlock hadn't collected that intercept the result could have been very different. But they didn't so who knows?
Ozbash, as for Merhtens, well I can't see how they could have selected him due to his lack of S12 game time. But we sure could have done with his boot when it counted.
