a bloody brilliant effort the past week in the land of the rising sun,to run 9.93 is just amazing,to follow that up pushing the world record holder to within 1/100 of a second is a credit to him.

our athletes are looking quite good leading into athens next year,we have jana pittman who is incredibly strong over the 400m hurdles, craig mottram in the distance events if he can shrug off some injury problems and benita johnson who ran 5th at the world cross titles only 2 seconds behind the winner, she's a very classy runner, keep an eye out for her.

cathy freeman looks as if she can't recaptureher form, she had to much time off away from the sport, hopefully she can prove me wrong as she's good for the sport.

bronwyn thompson in the long jump is very good on her day,if she can jump her best she'll be tough to beat, jumping jai taurima was a one jump hero,he's flatout producing a legal jump these days.

all in all athletics is looking pretty healthy in australia for the moment.
