Anyone watch this last night? Based on the old TV show Prisoner. Doesn't look too bad with a more modern feel and MA+ rating.

I watched it because the other half wanted to. I never saw Prisoner. It wasn't too bad. Some violence, sex (girl on girl), surprises. Nothing that I would normally watch but I think I'm gonna be forced to every week so may as well try to enjoy it.

Sounds like me. The other half is a huge fan of the old Prisoner so there was no choice what was going to be on television last night.

It has all the makings of being a pretty good Australian show. I will keep watching it.

Frankie isn't too bad of a sort either.

Having watched a fair bit of the original Prisoner on pay TV (at the insistence of the missus), I found Wentworth a bit confusing.

It looks like the original characters have been stripped down and rebuilt as different personas. Look at the way the pilot portrayed Meg Morris, Vera Bennett, Doreen and Lizzie Birdsworth. Nothing like the original.

The pilot had many factual flaws - metal cutlery, a toddler running rampant in an inappropriate and violent environment, a relationship between a supervisor and staff (a no-no in State government departments) and the lack of supervision in an free-for-all visitor area.

Yeah, what was with the kid? That was baffling.

The end threw me though. Did not see that coming.

None of those are factual flaws.

You can find metal cutlery in women's prisons, but not in mens.
