Agree. How does he stop from making more similar errors....
Easy, don't engage with the press or make statements directed to anyone outside our walls unless it's an official announcement eg signing, releasing etc.
He is pretty damn good with the press. Im good with letting this one go.

Richo is the best thing to happen to our club this year, make no mistake about it.
Exactly, in Richo we trust.
I'm like an over protective granddad. I don't want him to make the same mistakes as our previous administrators did... that's all.

But

But Richo made the comment to sound like it came from us, the broader Wests Tigers Community.
You make that sort of statement when the player is leaving, which we did.

I think it should come from the broader Wests Tigers Community. The guy copped so much shit here. He was overpaid and he isn't an elite level half but it was just stupid expectations from certain fans that screwed him over. That is me being nice. It could also very well be merkins that like to bully people because they are weak and pathetic.

He was a focal point for how shit the club has been. He was never the issue.

Did you see his game on the weekend ? Solid defense, some great ball playing and he took the right option consistently.

I reckon the halves we have now are considerably better than Brooks and it's all good.

Brooksy will always be a Tiger player in my mind whereas Turdesco and Moses aren't.

His first mistake was lionising and backing Benji to the hilt in circumstances where Benji hadn’t been tested.

There waa always a risk Benji would fail. He has, but that’s not the point.

He shouldn’t have entered the field of battle to be so open about supporting Benji. Now he’s stuck with it. It’s not his decision anyway.

On a positive note, we are finally getting serious about the South West. That’s much to his credit and nursed properly, will pay dividends for decades to come.

This topic has gained a lot of attention in here. It also has had the same sort of reaction in other forums and social media like 'X' mostly disagreeing with Richo's statement.
It's for these reasons why it should not have been written by Richo, especially the additional remarks because it was a heat seeking missile.
When I read the article I knew straight away that it would get a lot of attention.
The media loves this sort of stuff and that's my angle....don't feed the melons.
I've gone on record several times in LU and other forums in saying I like Brooks because he's actually a nice guy with a lovely young family and some criticism of him was unfair. That's another story that's been put to bed and long time ago and can stay there.
That's it from me. The topic has had too much attention imo.
Let's think about next year.

The expectations were commensurate with his salary & job description albeit plenty of fans could see what the coaching staff & previous diabolical admin couldn’t that he was incapable of game management & his strengths were as a running 5/8 & defence.

Agree he was the focal pt of how horrendous the team in its entirety was.Conversely at Manly he is surrounded by guns especially at 1 & 7 which has made his life so much easier & allowed him to concentrate on running & passing to one of the many speedy manly backs & athletic backrowers.

As a person unlike the turd the wanka Moses & the ingrate Shazza he certainly isn’t unlikeable & it’s just unfortunate for him & us that the imbecilic coaches & admin interminably backed the glaringly wrong horse in giving him the keys to Concord where he never progressed beyond L plates as the game manager.

Agree about the over the top vocal support of the greenhorn & unmerited Benji but Richo will have plans in place to pull the trigger re Benjis termination if things don’t improve dramatically by mid ‘25

Richo Mistake 2:

Trumpeting his sacking of the gear steward as his first official decision in change.

Most of us thought it was a bit of a joke after a horrific season and our second spoon.

Richo positives:

Speaking to us frankly on BTR media, handling Lee and Co well. Standing up to Ute. A fair offer, no more being ripped off by holiday makers. Effort to shop underperforming players around. Publicly humiliating disrespectful and arrogant players at spoon bowl ( one of my particular favourites).

Richo Mistake 3:

Failed to ensure that Benji didn’t travel off overseas mid season for an overseas holiday.

That only served to red carpet the precious demands of players.

“ If it’s Ok for Benji to pursue his own interests then it’s ok for me.”

That’s how players think.

A sensitive lot who find injustices everywhere they look.

As a paid up member I couldn’t believe my coach was playing with starfish on sunny shores while the ship was taking in water at an alarming rate.

It was embarrassing. If he does it again, I’m burning my membership until he leaves.

Richo Mistake 4:

He keeps sprouting this utter delusional nonsense that we need a million home grown juniors to be competitive. A bastardised Young Frankenstein version of Penrith. Smuglets with metallic bolts ( our buddy @soc123_au might agree)

Alas dear Richo, most of the top sides don’t have much junior depth.

This all sounds like too much emphasis on hope and faith for mine.

We need recruitment excellence, first and foremost my son.

I love all our juniors of course, our pride and joy, but let’s be realistic atm. Let’s be patient and nurture them properly.

Positives;

Told the FAB boss, if he loved the club, he’d keep his sponsorship. He was right. His response to Lee and his Brydens pull out was “ Waaugh, we’ll find another one soon enough” Tough and decisive. We are usually on our knees querying likes and dislikes in such matters. Way to go Richo👍

I love it when we stand up. No matter how chaotic things get, the middle finger at our bone headed dickheaded detractors. This is our club and we will f**k it up as we see fit.

Lee became an outspoken enemy way too quickly, it undid a lot of his previous words of love and affection for the club and us rank and file. Took his bat and ball and wandered off to find other slaves to his nauseating incompetence, unaccountability and unjustified arrogance and ego ( did I miss anything?!).

If we climb the ladder to top 10 or better, all will be forgiven.

Yes, we are all hoping for a recovery, so it was important to me to try to balance the bad with the good.

Its popular to label people as one thing or the another, but the truth is probably somewhere in between.

I think we benefit from Richos prominence in the game and no question he is committed and doing what he thinks is right.

Positive

Which reminds me of another Richo positive, when he called out the ghost junior memberships scam.

From memory, I think that was the first serious public strike-out at Lee and Co from Richo.

The proverbial line in the sand moment for Richo during those ginger formative months.

Remember that he didn’t have to make a grand announcement about it. It all could have been done quietly.

He is a strategist.

Bonus positive:-

Just quickly as a ‘ken huge positive: the saving of Galvin. He was at his front door and sitting on his parents lounge, faster than a rat up a drainpipe.

That was probably his top positive so far.

A horrific omission brothers…I apologise.

I’ll be late to my own funeral!
