Wests help Mittagong

Group 6 club Mittagong have been unsuccessfully advertising for players for several months and have experienced some severe floggings during that period.

Wests Premier League have come to the rescue providing up to 7 players during the last 2 games. Mittagong are yet to post a victory but they did lead for Oakdale for much of the game on the weekend.

In other news Narrellan joined Camden at the top of the table after they beat the Rams 40-24. The Jets were set to join the Jim Beam Cup this season but withdrew after they they were whipped by the Oaks in a trial. Although Group 6 has also adopted a player points index this year it is not as restrictive as the JBC system. Consequently, Narellan would have had to field a weaker team in JBC if Adam Doyle, Leo Clarke and Ron Jones chewed up 45 of the 100 points.

Ironically, The Oaks are outside the top 4. The table now is:

14 Camden, Narellan
10 Picton, Thirlmere
8 Oakdale, The Oaks
2 Mittagong

Great stuff from the Magpies. They are really laying down roots in the district and they are spreading the message of generosity.

It helps us out heaps because it means we can keep our depth match fit. With the injury toll reducing we've got plenty of good quality players that need a run and can help out both Ourimbah and Mittagong.

We have Aaron Heremaia, Brad Davis, Brett Rimmer, Joe Swamy all up at Ourimbah. Also there are Mick Papa, Manu Asouva, Gordon Graff and Bart Masters but they are on a more permanent basis.

Drew Dalton, Steve Matthews, Anthony Kiro and Michael Parzakonis are at
Mittagong. The players that don't get a run from the Flegg and P/L bench
will also play at Mittagong this weekend. That would add Shane Beyers and Richie Parker and maybe a couple of the Fleggies. Some ability in that lot for this level and should help Mittagong be competitive at least. The thing is they'd all be at Narellan if they hadn't pulled the plug so I reckon the Jets fears of weekly floggings were wide of the mark.

If anyone sees Ourimbah (good win today!) and Mittagong let us know how they go.

Mittagong were short a few of their imports as they relapsed in a 60-10 loss to Narellan on saturday night.
