What is a supercharged car

So far Ive been told that its just something that will make a car more expensive and waste more petrol.... Does it have any poisitves and what does exactly is a supercharged car?

[Sweeper]

A Supercharger is similar to a turbo. It force feeds air into your cars cylinders. More air + more fuel = more power, but you'll pay more for insurance and petrol.

It connects to your engine and spins at a high RPM... turbos go as high as 130,000.. so they can stuff up. They're good on commodores as the engine doesn't have much up high in the revs... the higher you rev the more impact the supercharger will have.
