What players will leave???????

I have just read in another post that some players have get out clauses in the contracts if Ando goes!!! In realation to the get out clause of these players it is true and they have stated that they back Ando and will leave if he goes. However if we have another S**t year do you honestly think they will hang around and play for a team on the bottom end of the ladder if an offer from a more competitive club comes up???. I don't think so :? . We will lose these players anyway even if Ando's there or not. I can't imagine Nutly staying if an offer from the likes of Brisbane, the Roosters, Newcastle or Penrith comes along :evil: .
In short we have to start to win games , if Ando can't do it then Raper should be given a go asap in 2004. If we are competitive and in the top 8 these players won't want to leave. The pre season comp and the first few games of the comp should shed some light on how we will go next season.I just want the club to go well.

Bailey was/is the only player to have "get out clause" in his contract. And someone posted here that it have been closed off.

Do any of the clubs have room under the salary cap for players such as Bailey and Kimmorley for 2004 in the event they walk out if Anderson goes? :?

So what happens if we give Anderson his year, we do poorly, and it's in the best interests of the club to sack him. Do we keep on a lame duck coach just because Noddy's contract has 3 years to run? Hell no. We tell Noddy he's under contract and he better honour it. As far as Bails and Nuts go, re-sign them earlier in the season so they can't hold us over a barrell late in the year.

Nutley would stay. He is just a guy who gets into what he is doing. He'd stay.

Bailey would test the water to feed his ego and end up in Newcastle or the roosters.

Kimmorley would go to England or Rar Rar.

But I would think we could keep all of these guys no matter what.

the reality is that even if some contracts have a coach clause it is unlikely they will be used

kimmorley has a good contract and bailey has settled in at the sharks

and with the salary cap for most clubs already reached i cant see these guys taking a "chris walker" contract

I'll tell you something, if the Anderson debacle reaches new lows, and the said players revolt and leave, do you really think there will be a quality half back ready to fill Kimmorley's shoes? Or any other quality to cover the other guys if they go?

What the board will do is give the Sharks fans another dose of lower graders filling shoes that are far and away beyond their ability. There was a headline in 99 about how little the team was being paid and how much of a bargain they were. We still didn't win.

This structure must have stuck fast because the same reciepe has been repeated since then. But then they paid big money for a coach that hasn't and by the looks of the next few months won't get to, deliver the Holy Grail to the Sharks.

I am amazed they had the initiative to go out and get Anderson, well done! Oh.....yep....um...hang on a minute, he's going to need some handy players to win that promised grand final isn't he? Let's just give him the ol' budget Sharks team we always give em' and see what he can do. Let him have his pick of one or a couple of decent players though, just to be fair.

What miracle of miracles will the Sharks deliver to their over-pampered fans in 2004? Please ease up on the luxuries - you do spoil us you know!! I don't know if I can fit another morsal in!!

You have summed up the situation perfectly.

Anderson is a football coach. Pierce and co are politicians. For God's sake, butt out and let him get on with it!!

There is another factor to hink about. Anderson, if he dose leave without fulfilling his contract, that wont do his reputation any good. Would he ever coach in the NRL again?Who would want him ? Is he just too hard to get along with?

A Budget Team Hmm, Where did that crap come from Jimbo. When Anderson arrived at the club we had a top 8 first grade side which as Langy said the other night "wasn't far of a premiership but he just ran out of time". so to say that we had a budget side when Ando took over is wrong. we had 6 Rep players in the side; Noddy, Stevo, Graham, Mckenna, Beats and Peach or did you forget that???? So in affect he took this side and F**ked it. So how many of our rep players got pick for anything this year, The big 0 not one except the Bum boy who should not have been picked buts thats another story.

Get over yourself you clown If he wasn't he wouldn't be in the Australian side now would he of course not , I beleive the more common termanoligie for someone like this is brown nose. He did nothing this year to warrant selection in the Australian side. I'll even go as far as to say Bailey shouldn't be there either, But hey they suck up to the coach and support him they get there rewards. I feel sorry for the players who have played well all year and missed out because of this.
