I've never understood the Bon Jovi hate.

His lyrics aren't terrible and he isn't a bad singer either, while Sambora is a decent guitarist.

I understand Blink 182 hate and Simple Plan hate but I reckon there is actually some talent in Bon Jovi

There is talent, but these numb nuts don't see that, they just look at the era and their clothes, hair etc and straight away discriminate.

Whats funny is that these clowns never say a bad word about Bowie, Kiss, Queen, Led Zepplin, Black Sabbath etc who also wore make-up, costumes, personalities etc.

Sambora is well known, same with Jon, They're worth millions, sold millions over a long period of time.....but these tossers probably wouldn't even know that or what talent is or how to play an instrument.

They sound like Ramones fans lol

You should give yourself an uppercut for mentioning Bowie and Bon Jovi in the same post!

Ron this is one of your classics!!!!

How can you compare Bowie and Bon Jovi?????

Here is why Bowie is far far superior.

Bon jovi lyrics

JON BON JOVI - Living On A Prayer Lyrics
Once upon a time not so long ago:
Tommy used to work on the docks
union's been on strikeHe's down on his luck -
It's toughso tough.
Gina works the diner all day
working for her man
She brings home her pay for lovefor love.
She says: We've got to hold on to what we've got
'Cause it doesn't make a difference if we make it or not.
We've got each other and that's a lot for love -
We'll give it a shot.
We're half way there -
Livin' on a prayer
Take my hand and we'll make itI swear -
livin' on a prayer.
Tommy got his six string in hock.
Now he's holding in what he used to make it talk -So toughit's tough.
Gina dreams of running away
when she cries in the night
Tommy whispers: Babyit's okay someday.
We've got to hold on to what we've got . . .
We're half way there -
Livin' on a prayer. . .
We've got to hold on ready or not
You live for the fight when it's all that you've got.
We're half way there -
Livin' on a prayer. .
.We're half way there -
Livin' on a prayer. . .
We're half way there -
Livin' on a prayer

Bowie Lyrics
Space Oddity
============

Ground Control to Major Tom
Ground Control to Major Tom
Take your protein pills and put your helmet on

Ground Control to Major Tom
Commencing countdown, engines on
Check ignition and may God's love be with you

(spoken)
Ten, Nine, Eight, Seven, Six, Five, Four, Three, Two, One, Liftoff

This is Ground Control to Major Tom
You've really made the grade
And the papers want to know whose shirts you wear
Now it's time to leave the capsule if you dare

"This is Major Tom to Ground Control
I'm stepping through the door
And I'm floating in a most peculiar way
And the stars look very different today

For here
Am I sitting in a tin can
Far above the world
Planet Earth is blue
And there's nothing I can do

Though I'm past one hundred thousand miles
I'm feeling very still
And I think my spaceship knows which way to go
Tell my wife I love her very much she knows"

Ground Control to Major Tom
Your circuit's dead, there's something wrong
Can you hear me, Major Tom?
Can you hear me, Major Tom?
Can you hear me, Major Tom?
Can you....

"Here am I floating round my tin can
Far above the Moon
Planet Earth is blue
And there's nothing I can do."

****Then 11 years later****

Ashes To Ashes
==============

Do you remember a guy that's been
In such an early song
I've heard a rumour from Ground Control
Oh no, don't say it's true

They got a message from the Action Man
"I'm happy, hope you're happy too
I've loved all I've needed to love
Sordid details following"

The shrieking of nothing is killing
Just pictures of Jap girls in synthesis and I
Ain't got no money and I ain't got no hair
But I'm hoping to kick but the planet it's glowing

CHORUS
Ashes to ashes, funk to funky
We know Major Tom's a junkie
Strung out in heaven's high
Hitting an all-time low

Time and again I tell myself
I'll stay clean tonight
But the little green wheels are following me
Oh no, not again
I'm stuck with a valuable friend
"I'm happy, hope you're happy too"
One flash of light but no smoking pistol

I never done good things
I never done bad things
I never did anything out of the blue, woh-o-oh
Want an axe to break the ice
Wanna come down right now

CHORUS

REPEAT
My mother said to get things done
You'd better not mess with Major Tom

I'm not sure if Ron can get his blow waved teased big hair around Bowie's lyrics... but
it is easy to see who is the poet and who is the Bruce Springsteen wannabe.

Yeah and........

Forgot to mention China girl from Bowie.

Both lyirics were for different purposes, both did them very well.

Iggy Pop co-wrote China Girl, and recorded it before Bowies' version.
