What Song?

The lyric is:
"Long may love reign o'er me, Long may it last for years"

Any idea what the song, artist, album might've been.

I heard the song yonks ago (it's out of the 70's). The lyric stuck but everything else is now fog.

The band was somewhat metal...not quite as heavy as Sabbath. A bit like Slade

A Google search brought up the song "Long May Love Reign" by the Australian band Taste, never heard of it though...

Bingo! Thanks dude. I vaguely recalled it as being Taste but everybody kept telling me Taste was an Irish band (with Rory Gallagher)...none of their songs matched my memory....nobody (even record stores) told me of the Aussie band of the same name (and era).

Cheers.....now to try and track down the album
