Years ago I went to my first Newtown game.
It was promoted by John Singleton and was huge.
It was to be the debut of an NFL player.
I think his first name was Manfred and I'm sure he played on the wing.
A huge day at Henson but the player was a shocker, although it was a smart move by Singo. Newtown became one of my favourite teams because of that promo.

Manfred Moore was his name only played 4 to 5 games in 1977 and went back to the states.Scored a try with his first touch against Wests at henson park Jets won 17-10.Jets lost the next 20 on the trot bad old days.Manfred was special guest at jets yearly reunion 2 year back.
